The Evolution of Larry Hood: An Emerging Poet’s First Public Reading

A fantastic crowd came out for Larry Hood’s Evolution of Me poetry reading and signing on August 27 at the Barnes & Noble in the Edgewood Shopping Center. Larry took questions from the audience, and two of his friends from the Frazer Center, Alicia and Laura, read a few of his favorite poems to the audience. He was thrilled to announce that a second book of poetry is already in the works! It was fantastic to see so many people come out to support such an innovative artist. A special thanks to Georgia Microboards Association, Inc., for putting it all together. Here a two of Larry’s poems:

Hear My Cry
When I am hungry and there’s no food to eat
Hear my cry
When I am sad and lonely
Hear my cry
When I am down and out
Hear my cry
When I need someone to lean on
Hear my cry
When I feel I can’t go on
Hear my cry
When I feel like giving up
Hear my cry
When I feel like there’s no tomorrow
Hear my cry
When my tears hit my pillow, Oh God
Hear my cry

Life Is a Journey
In life we all have to take a journey
Called death
We don’t have a choice of
When our journey is over
But one thing we want is
No more dying
No more crying
No more sadness
No more pain
No more sorrow
The streets are paved with gold
But one day we will
Be with our loved ones and
One day God can and will say,
“Good job, your journey is over, well done.”
