More Than a Sunday Social: Mahjong & Mimosas

More Than a Sunday Social: Mahjong & Mimosas

It was an unusually chilly spring Sunday, but Frazer’s atrium was filled with sunlight, along with the sounds of friends laughing, glasses clinking, and mahjong tiles clicking.

Old friends gathered in their familiar foursomes. New players pulled up chairs, learned the rhythm of the game, and connected with one another. With guidance from Liz Liu of Southern Mahjong Co., the room quickly filled with both confidence and camaraderie.

No matter the experience level, the afternoon was marked by joy, with just a bit of friendly competition mixed in.

Guests enjoyed a beautiful spread from Meats to Sweets and C. Parks Catering and Events. A mimosa bar added a little sparkle to the day. Five juice options kept things playful, while the steady hum of conversation carried throughout the atrium.

Four lucky winners took home prizes, thanks to generous support from Candler Park Market, Eau du Vin, Guitar Shed, HippoHopp, and Wahoo Wine & Provisions. Each guest also left with a custom sugar cookie created just for Frazer by Moonlight Bakery. It was a small, thoughtful detail that made the afternoon feel even more personal.

What made Mahjong & Mimosas meaningful wasn’t just the game or the gathering. It was the sense of connection that filled the space.

At Frazer, that kind of connection sits at the center of our work. It allows children and adults of all abilities to learn, grow, and spend time together in ways that feel natural and shared. Not only in classrooms or programs, but in moments like these, when community comes together with intention.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us—attendees, sponsors, staff, and volunteers—for helping create an afternoon that supports inclusion and strengthens the Frazer community.

Special thanks goes to The Cator Woolford Memorial Fund for providing that extra sparkle.
