Food, Fun, Games, and Gifts for DSP Week

Our Direct Support Professionals are so essential to Frazer’s mission that we’d love to be able to fête them every day. During DSP Recognition Week (Sep 11-17) we could do just that, thanks to the generosity of Frazer friends and families. That’s YOU!

Going with a circus theme, Unondus Walker, Director of Adult Services, planned something special for every day of the week. The Tres Jardines food truck brought Mexican street food to the Frazer staff, and special treats were provided by Sweets by Keeks

DSP Recognition Week at Frazer is always filled with fun and games. This year, thanks to donations from the community, prizes were given out, raising the stakes—and the friendly competition among the DSPs.

Perhaps most special of all were the personalized presents from the families of our adult participants. Here are some of the thoughtful messages sent to our DSPs:

“Thank you! Thank you for showing up and doing what few are willing to do. You are truly appreciated!”

“Every day I am blown away by the expertise and warmth of the staff of the Adult Services program. I am humbled to get to witness their extraordinary work day in and day out.”

“We thank everyone at the Frazer Center for all you do. We know it is a hard job and you are all very much appreciated. My daughter is always happy to come there and I am happy also that she enjoys it.”

“I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the professionals at the Frazer Center! You all are truly doing God's work. I appreciate your dedication and commitment to making the lives of those with disabilities better! May God bless you and your families.”

“Thanks to all the DSPs for all the work they do with the adults. Keep up the good work.”

“I know that the job that you all do is not an easy one. But know that it is truly appreciated by us families, more than you know. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!!”

“I am so honored that you all are working well with my sibling even when others tend to forget that our loved ones exist. ‘Thank you’ is just not enough. We Truly Appreciate you all, for you are remarkable humans with hearts of gold.”

Big thanks to all who helped make DSP Recognition Week so wonderful. And evermore thanks to our Direct Support Professionals who bring such steadfast love and caring to our adult participants.
